Video of the Day: Cheryl Cole – “The Flood” on Alan Carr

It’s been raining in Los Angeles for the past several days, and I’m loving it. It’s great to have some hint of winter every now and again. Several major highways and roads have been shut down due to floods. I know it’s been cold everywhere with massive snow storms in Europe, hopefully everyone is safe and staying warm.

I’m really keen on Cheryl Cole‘s new single, “The Flood”. It’s only appropriate for the weather in LA.

And it’s a great and powerful ballad, full of emotion, and it’s a belter. It’s a great winter/rainy day song.

New Song and Video: Crystal Bowersox – “Farmer’s Daughter”

Crystal Bowersox was the runner up in last season’s American Idol competition, but it wasn’t for lack of talent. She was a favorite all season, and each week, she sang her heart out. She is a true talent and while the American Idol audience embraced her, she was destined to be a star with or without the show.

Crystal signed with 19 Management and Jive Records, and released her debut album, Farmer’s Daughter, last Tuesday. The lead single from the album is the title track, a great country-folk song. The single showcases Crystal’s voice and talents and allows her to maintain her identity and be real. She isn’t a puppet that’s made to sing songs that will sell, she sings from the heart, and “Father’s Daughter” is a great introduction post-idol.
