Jason Mraz and Toca Rivera 10 Year Anniversary Tour this Fall

Alicia Keys is not the only artist celebrating a 10 year anniversary this year… Through his clever and inspiring blog, Freshness Factor Five Thousand, Jason Mraz (website/twitter) announced that he, and long time friend and collaborator, Toca Rivera will be heading out for a World Tour this fall.

“Fortunately, this fall, Toca Rivera and I are teaming up for a ten-year anniversary world tour. Just the two of us. We’ll return to the road in full force with fresh and familiar songs, covers and improvised moments and nothing but a guitar and djembe in the band supporting our voices. I am very much looking forward to this new/old expression. (Look for us in a theatre near you.)

Being back on the road is a powerful reminder of who I am when I am at my best….”
- Jason Mraz from a taste of my own medicine.

Jason Mraz is one of the most talented, inspiring, and prolific songwriters. His music is not only pleasant on the ears, but the soul and spirit. He serves wisdom and gratitude through this lyrics, blog, and is a champion of numerous causes. Jason also has a great sense of humor, and quite a dirty mind (which he sneaks into his songs).

“You and I Both” is one of my favorite Jason Mraz songs from Jason’s debut album, Waiting For My Rocket To Come… (other favorites on the album include “Sleep All Day”, “Absolutely Zero”, “On Love, In Sadness”, “The Boy’s Gone”, and “Tonight, Not Again”).

Here’s Jason and Toca with a great acoustic performance of “You and I Both”, with some additional lyrics not in the original album version:

Jason is one of my favorite artists to see live. He always puts on a great show and is so inspiring. His fans are amazing and loyal and everyone is there to have a good time. He’s also known to jam with the opening acts, has had a magician in between sets, shows his operatic talents, and even raps in French on occasion.

Adele performs “Set Fire To The Rain” on the Graham Norton Show

Adele sang a spectacular performance of “Set Fire To The Rain” on the Graham Norton Show. She’s got such an amazing voice, control and stage presence. I feel every single word she sings. Truly talented.

It’s the 3rd single from her sophomore album, 21, which is doing phenomenally well worldwide.

21 currently sits at the #1 spot in both the UK and US – reclaiming the top spot in both countries. It’s spent 12 of 13 weeks in the top spot in the UK. That’s 3 months at the top… very impressive and well deserved.

“Set Fire To The Rain” is a classic hit and will surely sit at the top of the charts.

I can’t wait to see a music video – it has to be epic with all the powerful imagery and symbolism in the song.

Adele is on fire and no amount of rain is going to put it out.

Cover: Michael Grimm meets Alicia Keys’ “Fallin’”

It’s been 10 years since Alicia Keys released Songs in A Minor, launching her stellar career. Her success was largely due to the lead single, the breathtaking “Fallin’”, which remains Keys’ iconic hit. Alicia is re-releasing the album in a special 10th anniversary edition.

Michael Grimm was the winner of last seasons cycle of America’s Got Talent, and will be releasing a self-titled album on May 17th. It’s his 3rd album, but first post AGT win. The lead single from the new album is a great soulful cover of the Alicia Keys hit, “Fallin’”.

It’s quite a gutsy move, but Michael changes it enough to make it his own without drawing comparisons to Alicia’s classic version, while maintaining the emotion and beautiful melody of the song.
