Cary Brothers (website/twitter/facebook) is one of my favorite male singer-songwriters. He has a way of beautifully putting words and emotions into a song. His songs are emotional, moving, and have depth. His last album, Under Control, is ace from start to end. Here’s his new tune, “Take Your Time”, which was featured on The Vampire Diaries:
If you’re in LA, Cary Brothers will be playing with Harper Blynn at Hotel Cafe next Wednesday, October 26th. The two toured together last year. I saw Cary Brothers play at Hotel Cafe sometime last year, and it’s the perfect venue for him. He’s great live.
Here’s a recent great live and acoustic cover by Cary Brothers and Laura Jansen (website/twitter/facebook) for The Voice Project. They did a cover of Ryan Adam’s “Come Pick Me Up”. Laura Jansen can also be heard on “Something About You”, a cover of Level 42‘s song, as heard on Cary’s album, Under Control.
Man – Cary and Laura sound so great toegther.
Laura Jansen is another favorite singer-songwriter of mine. She’s also such a sweetheart and super friendly. She joined Harper Blynn at Hotel Cafe this past Wednesday… yeah, we missed a great show. She’s another great singer-songwriter and everyone should hear her beautiful music. I can’t tell you how hard it is to get her songs “Single Girls” and “The End” out of my head… I’m contantstly singing it. It’s slightly embarrassing.
So what I’m saying is:
- Cary Brothers is awesome. Pick up his album, Under Control, and his new single, “Take Your Time”. And if you’re in LA, check him out at Hotel Cafe this Wednesday.
- Laura Jansen is also amazing, pick up her album, Bells.
- And share their music with your friends. And Go!
